One super popular quilting building block is Half Square Triangles. The Brazen Quilt Pattern features tons of HSTs using the Magic 8 technique, which is easy and efficient!

Favorite Tools for Making a Brazen Quilt
Whenever sewing fabric on the bias, I always recommend using Best Press or your favorite starch. Best Press or an alternative to spray starch is helpful to keep your fabric from stretching while you are sewing or pressing. For best results, apply your starch to your fabric prior to pressing & cutting.
If you don’t already have a long ruler around 24″ long, I highly recommend it. I recommend this ruler for cutting your Brazen Quilt Pieces!
A small square ruler at least 7.5″ will be particularly helpful for making a Brazen quilt. A larger ruler will also be useful. I personally get a lot of use out of my 12.5″ square ruler for making most quilt patterns and recommend that if you are buying a new ruler.
For the Brazen Pattern specifically, I found the Perfectly Slotted Triangle rulers super helpful while making the Half Square Triangles.
A stripology ruler may be useful as well, but is not necessary or required.
If you have an AccuQuilt, you can use the 10″ Mix and Match Qube to make the Brazen Quilt. Specific AccuQuilt fabric requirements and cutting instructions are found inside the Brazen Quilt Pattern.

Inspiration behind the Brazen Quilt Pattern
Do you ever schedule time in your day for creativity? No clear agenda, but just some time to play and see what comes? That’s the story of how this Brazen Quilt Pattern was born!
The Brazen Quilt Pattern started off as a simple geometric design that I made while playing around with the various block options inside the Electric Quilt 8 software.
