Therapeutic Quilting and the Japanese Aesthetic of Wabi-sabi

Let me introduce you to my most recent quilt finish: Mod Mountains, a SuzyQuilts Pattern. I recently finished the very long process of making this quilt, and realized through it just how therapeutic quilting can really be when you let go of any stress and just let yourself get lost in the process. The quilt really does not have to take a long time to make, but for me, the time spent on it was so refreshing for my soul.

Suzy released this pattern earlier this year and then hosted a super fun Sew-A-Long for the sewing community to piece this quilt top together – months ago! Surprisingly, I actually kept up with the Sew-A-Long (Thanks Suzy for keeping it at a super manageable pace!!) but then I made sure to take my sweet, sweet time quilting it!

Ivy League Quilt // pattern review

My friend Rachel over at @wren.collective released her very first quilt pattern: Ivy League! I tested the pattern and really love this pattern, and all the different variations I have seen so far from other testers too!

I made the baby size version of this pattern, and it finished at 39″ x 43″, but the pattern also includes a Wall Hanging size, and a Throw Size. To see lots of awesome colorways and the different sizes of this quilt, check out Wren-collective’s Ivy League pattern release blog post.
