Spring Fling Throw Quilt Made with the Jubilant Quilt Pattern

Today I’m sharing this bright and cheerful Spring Fling Jubilant Quilt, a throw-size quilt made using the Jubilant Quilt pattern. This project is full of movement, color, and clean patchwork, and it was such a satisfying quilt to bring together from start to finish.

The throw size is one of my favorite sizes to make because it’s large enough to really show off the design, but still very manageable from a construction standpoint. The Jubilant pattern lends itself beautifully to bold prints and high contrast, and this version feels playful while still being timeless.

Spring Fling Fabrics and a Clean Background

For the fabrics, I used the Spring Fling fat quarter bundle, which is available through Homemade Emily Jane. The mix of prints brings so much energy to the quilt and gives the Jubilant blocks plenty of visual interest without feeling overwhelming.

I paired the prints with Riley White solid fabric for the background, which really helps the design breathe. The white background adds contrast, keeps the layout crisp, and allows the Spring Fling colors to shine.

Cutting with the AccuQuilt Fabric Cutting Machine

I cut out this quilt using an AccuQuilt fabric cutting machine, which made the cutting process incredibly efficient and accurate. Using a fabric cutter like this really shines with patterns that rely on consistent shapes and clean edges, and it allowed me to move quickly from cutting to piecing without sacrificing precision.

If you’re someone who loves the piecing stage but dreads cutting, this method can be a total game changer, especially for more unique patchwork shapes like these Half Rectangle Triangles.

I have an article all about AccuQuilt for you to reference to see if this machine might be good for you, and a full AccuQuilt tutorial for you to see how the machine works.

Piecing the Jubilant Quilt Top

Once everything is cut, the quilt top comes together smoothly. The Jubilant Quilt pattern is structured in a way that keeps piecing intuitive while still feeling engaging. Watching the blocks come together and seeing the overall design emerge is one of the most rewarding parts of this pattern.

This is the kind of quilt that feels just as fun to make as it is to use, and it’s a great option if you enjoy a balance of precision and creativity.

Long Arm Quilting Details

The quilting for this quilt was done by Megan at Northern Designs Minnesota, and she did a beautiful job finishing it off. The quilting features the Daisy Dotz #1 pantograph by Urban Elementz.

The soft, playful texture of the quilting complements the Spring Fling fabrics perfectly and adds movement without overpowering the piecing. It’s a great reminder of how the right quilting design can really elevate a finished quilt.

A Finished Throw Quilt Ready for Spring

This Spring Fling Jubilant Quilt came together into a bright, happy throw that feels perfect for spring and beyond. Between the colorful prints, the clean white background, and the all-over quilting, it’s a quilt that feels both fresh and cozy.
